The Louisville Big Hit 1/4 and 1/2 Marathon – My First 13.1

Well, it was freezing cold in Downtown Louisville on October 26, literally, the air temp was 28 and we were right next to the river! The 7:45 start was more of an 8:00 start, but we got going finally. The nerves of the day were so intense I didn’t know what to do. GO!

I was feeling ok in the 10:00 mile pace group running solely against myself and not letting anyone in the race dictate my pace. The run started at Witherspoon and Preston and proceeded through Louisville up to Churchill Downs and finished at home plate at the Louisville Slugger Field. In all, my time was 2:12:16 which placed me in 460th place overall and 31 in the M25-29 age group.
